Your experience learning Gentu is really important to us and we want to make sure it’s amazing. To help get off to the right start, we’ve put together this guide and recommendations that will make learning an enjoyable and rewarding experience.
These recommendations are based on 25 years experience completing thousands of customer implementations in practices just like yours.
Training
Your trainer will take you through a structured training program that will get you up to speed as quickly as possible.
To maximize training productivity, Genie Solutions recommends a patient free session for your first training with phones diverted to voicemail. Practices that devote the first training session to training without distraction learn the program fastest and can start running the practice efficiently. On the "Go Live" day of your implementation it is recommended to have a light morning booked where the trainer can come out and assist in your consultation day. A light morning is considered 4 to 5 patients.
For efficiency of functionality within the program please ensure the pre-configuration requirements have all been completed before your orientation date. This is one of the most important things you can do to prepare for your orientation. Your trainer will use this information and dedicate some time ahead of your training to perform some configuration of the program so it's important to provide this in advance so they can complete this task.
As we are teaching you to use Gentu to complete processes that you already do, it is a good idea to have on hand information that we may use to aid in training. For example, if your practice bills surgical cases, have some surgery accounts ready. If you are using direct billing via Bulk-billing or Veterans Affairs have some ready to bill and batch in Gentu. Hospital operating lists, patient recalls or reminders and patient scans are other things you might wish to have ready. Obviously if you're just starting out in Private Practice this might not be applicable to you but don't worry - our training will cater to your circumstances.
Things to consider
- The larger the practice the longer training takes.
- Everyone learns at a different pace, so allow sufficient time for everyone to learn.
- It can be a little stressful learning new things so make sure everyone understands their role in the success of the transition and support each other.
- We suggest displaying a sign on the desk for the first consulting session indicating that you are learning a new software.
- Training will be a mixture of test data and re-entry of manual records of patient data your site has recorded in between the transition period of Genie Solutions converting your data (if you had a data conversion)
What to expect on the day?
Our training and implementation consultants are experts in ensuring you can get the most out of our products. They have vast experience in educating our customers on how to use the products and will be there to guide you through what might feel like a daunting adventure! When you purchase our products we include our recommended training hours based on that experience - we know how long it usually takes to ensure you are comfortable and set up for success when it comes to using Gentu. Additional training is available to be purchased at a later date and can be in a number of different formats.
Our training sessions are customisable based on your requirements and workflow within the timeframes we have available but below you will see a breakdown of a standard training session. Again this is based on our experience of what is most effective in delivering the content needed to ensure you're ready to start enjoying and using Gentu.
