We know how important it is to be able to readily access a patients medical record which is why we offer the ability for you to convert your data from your existing software into Gentu. There are a lot of challenges that accompany transferring data from the hundreds of other products out there on the market but we pride ourselves on being up to that challenge!
We want to ensure that everyone involved in the process has a clear understanding of what will be converted and how it will look. In order to do this we will obtain a copy of your data file and perform a 'trial conversion' which allows us to take your existing software data and convert it into our Gentu product so you can then view how the information will appear and what is able to be migrated.
Once we've converted the data one of our training team will sit down with you and show you the data in Gentu so you can review and ensure everything looks as expected. We call this process User Acceptance Testing (UAT). The trainer will provide you with a document to sign off on that indicates you've reviewed the data and that everything is appearing as expected.
If any issues are identified during this stage we'll go away and modify what's required to ensure we've got your data conversion correct. Then we'll discuss timeframes with you for when we can perform the final 'live conversion'.
For the live conversion we'll again need to collect a copy of the data and convert it. From when we take that copy of the data file any new information that may be entered into your old PMS system will not be migrated. It's important that you record this information separately so that it can be re-entered into Gentu at the time of your training.
In order to facilitate the migration of your data from your existing software program to Gentu we will need to obtain a copy of your existing database and any accompanying files (eg documents/scans/attachments) that may be associated with your database. What we will require will depend on what software product you are using so our Migrations team will discuss the specifics around your particular instance with you directly.
What we can convert into Gentu will depend on what software program you have been using. We will always endeavour to convert as much information as possible but often the complexities of different database structures can mean that this isn't always possible. Typically you can expect things like appointments, patient demographics and address book information will all migrate. Our Migrations team will outline what you can expect though based on what program you have been using.
